Primary Responsibilities
  • In this role, your major functions include participating in total patient care, assisting with preparing patients for examinations, procedures and minor surgeries, administering and recording medications, drawing and processing labs, acting as a patient liaison, and stocking and maintaining exam and procedure rooms
  • Ability to utilize the EMR (eClinicalWorks) to process the patient through the visit including but not limited to: arrive/room patients, accurately take and record vital signs, record necessary data elements as outlined in scope of work, obtain lab results and patient reports, facilitate prescriptions as outlined in scope of work, ensure correct electronic charting procedures, facilitate consent process using electronic program, facilitate follow-up appointment scheduling, provide patient with completed After Visit Summary
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
Qualifications
  • CPR certification is required
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Diploma is required
  • Ability to skillfully administer oral, IM and subcutaneous medications
  • Ability to perform venipuncture with skill, adhering to all OSHA PPE safety requirements
  • Ability to obtain accurate vital signs
  • Skill to accurately perform a 12-lead EKG
  • Ability to be flexible in working both back and front office to facilitate smooth workflow
  • Knowledge and ability to set up and assist physician with any procedures such as, but not limited to audiometry, spirometry, O2 saturation levels, ear lavage
  • Knowledge of all safety requirements when handling Biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments
  • Minimum of one year experience as medical assistant in medical facility
Education High school diploma. Medical Assistant Certification or Diploma.
