“True medicine is not the one that cures, but the one that prevents” ; “La verdadera medicina no es la que cura, sino la que precave” Jose Marti y Perez
Carmen Arias Perez, FNP, grew up in Maceo, a rural community in Cuba. During her formative years she was actively involved in volunteer work. She attended the Universidad de Oriente in Santiago de Cuba and later on a Master’s Degree in International Ecology based in Mexico and Quebec. This reinforced her focus on underserved communities dealing with environmental conflicts and social injustice.
She migrated to USA and after working at a refugee resettlement agency, she started a new professional path in healthcare. She studied her BSN and MSN at Bellarmine University, Louisville, KY. Her goal as a provider is to better serve every day the community that is receiving her.
