Westside Family Health Center has entered the next stage of its evolution by signing a 20-year lease for a new site located at 3861 Sepulveda Boulevard in Culver City - the former LA WEEKLY building - with a target opening in early 2020.
The location is more centrally located to the communities we serve with easier access via the 405 freeway, major thoroughfares, and is just a short walk from three major bus lines, and the Expo metro station.
We’ll address the health care issues of today and tomorrow in a new, advanced setting that offers state-of-the-art care to twice as many patients.
To get there, we’re launching a $15 million fundraising campaign called Healthy Futures for All – 2024 to enable Westside Family Health Center to expand our high-quality health care to the community we serve. The campaign comprises both the capital costs needed to relocate and the core operating costs for the first five years.
We’ll be adding vision, dental, and mental and behavioral health services, cementing our position as a supportive, nurturing cornerstone of the community. We’ll be a health center that treats each and every one of our patients like family, and recognizes that every family is an integral part of a stable community.
This easy-access location will increase the current square footage three-fold – to 24,000 square feet. We’ll be able to double the number of patients we can see from over 12,000 to over 24,000, and offer the full array of services and support that our community needs.
Westside Family Health Center’s new design is centered around our patients. The quick check-in lobby is designed to greet them in a reassuring, non-threatening and safe atmosphere. From there, they will take an elevator to the third floor where they will experience an atmosphere of soothing colors and tactile materials that provide a welcoming surrounding to complete their registration. Services provided will take place in the privacy of the exam room.
Our patients will experience comprehensive care in well-planned strategic areas we call “pods”. Each of the four pods contains six, light-filled exam rooms and a central space for doctors, technicians and dedicated medical assistants to share information. These pods will ensure greater patient care and the collaborative sharing of information. In addition, there are four dental operatories and two vision rooms. The second floor will house our administrative space, a team member lounge, and a community conference room to serve both our needs and those of the community.
In total, it will be a state-of-the-art clinic. It will fuel the energies and passions of our paid and volunteer team members, and inspire a welcoming, comforting and safe feeling in our patients and their families.
This has been a carefully thought out design, based on what we know about creating user-friendly and efficient health care systems.
As we move into the next 45 years, we have the opportunity to make an even bigger impact on the people, families, and communities we serve.
Help us deliver this dream to West Los Angeles and continue to strengthen the community by providing quality health care to those in need. Your contributions make the difference.
